At Ecological Marine Adventures, our unwavering commitment lies in providing exceptional care to the incredible animals under our stewardship and spreading conservation education within our community. Our volunteers are pivotal in supporting our aquarium and the diverse array of fascinating creatures that call it home. 

Why Volunteer with us?

Make a Difference: By volunteering with us, you'll actively contribute to caring for all of our aquarium species. 

  • Gain Experience: Volunteers will develop new skills in caring for aquarium animals, enhance their knowledge on conservation and possibly help conduct relevant field work.

  • Fun and Learning: Engage in hands-on experiences that are both educational and enjoyable.

 

Volunteer requirements

Age Limit: Volunteers must be between 14-18 years old.

  • Commitment: Volunteers are expected to commit to volunteering one day a week and one Saturday a month. 

  • Qualifications: Successful applicants will have completed EMA’s Aquarium Apprentice camp twice.

  • Term Selection: Choose between the terms of September-December or January-June for your volunteer commitment.

Volunteer tasks

As a volunteer, you will be involved in various tasks that support our organization's mission. These tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Misting Tanks

  • Changing Water Bowls

  • Cleaning Bathrooms

  • Sweeping

  • Scrubbing Algae

  • Cleaning Enclosures

  • Basking Animals

  • Food Prep

  • Other
